Steven Winkler was called as Senior Pastor of the Protestant Community Church, in May, 2004.  Rev. Winkler, ordained in 1972 in the United Church of Christ (UCC), came to the PCC after serving churches in Vermont and Ohio. 

“I have found our time at the PCC to be a joy.  We have the privilege of working with a remarkable staff and an energetic congregation who seem most willing to listen for God’s direction and to respond with time, talents, and resources wherever the Spirit leads.  I have been impressed with the spiritual depth of our members and with their genuine respect and care  for one another.”

He and his wife Heather are the proud parents of Jeremiah, Gabriel, and Zoe

::Rev. Dr. Virginia Leopold ::

The Rev. Dr. Virginia Leopold graduated from Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA as a psychology major. For 19 years she taught fourth grade in Jenkintown, PA. During that time she acquired her Masters of Education degree from Temple University, and took additional post-graduate courses at Temple, Penn State and Arcadia College. In 1982, she retired from teaching and entered Princeton Theological Seminary, majored in Philosophy and received her Master of Divinity in 1985. During that time she did field work here at the PCC, and following graduation she was called to this church as Assistant Pastor. In 1987 she received a master’s degree in Theology from Princeton Seminary in Pastoral Care and Counseling. In the following years, she moved from assistant to associate pastor, began a Doctor of Ministry degree at Princeton and completed four years there, eventually going to Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D. C. where she received her Doctor of Ministry in Spirituality.

“My years here have been challenging and enriching. This has been my home for so many years and I have grown and learned so much from the wonderful people here."

Ginny lives in Shamong, has a golden retriever named Miriam Rose, and loves reading, travel, camping, folk dancing, and laughing—a lot.

Julie Pope is our Business Administrator. She has been with the Protestant Community Church since July of 1998. A tireless woman of many talents, Julie serves as the financial administrator and the front office manager.

“It has been an amazing experience to be a part of a church that is growing spiritually by leaps and bounds! I am in awe of the tremendous faith, wisdom and diversity of talent our members possess.”

She and her husband Rick have three children: Jennifer, Brett and Brittany.

 

:: Cindy Conolly ::

Cindy Conolly has been with the Protestant Community Church since May of 2001. She works as an Administrative Assistant in the church office and is also the Wedding Administrator. Cindy works with the wedding couples from their initial contact with the church through to the day of their wedding, assisting them with all the details of their ceremony.

“Working with the wedding couples is a pleasure as they prepare for what is one of the most important days in their lives. It is gratifying to work with them during the planning process and to eventually share with them the excitement of their wedding day.”

Cindy is a member of Christ Presbyterian Church in Marlton and resides in Medford with her husband, Bob and their three daughters, Erin, Lauren and Colleen.

 

::Andria Gross ::

Andria Gross has been the Sunday School Superintendent at the Protestant Community Church since 1990.  She brings ideas and enthusiasm to the job of introducing children to the teachings of the Christian church, and she takes pleasure in working with a staff of about 25 volunteer Sunday School teachers.  She is reorgainizing the Sunday school program to a rotation formation that will begin in the fall of 2006.

"I feel extremely blessed to do God's work here at the Protestant Community Church.  I consider every child who comes to Sunday school as one of my own children.  This church is my family."

Andria's husband George recently retired from 37 years of teaching, and her daughter Amanda is a registered nurse.
